What is WSSEN and what can it do for you?
Social Enterprise Fund 2012-2013
West Sussex County Council has launched the Social Enterprise Fund for this financial year. WSCC invites organisations to submit proposals for viable business ideas to be delivered for the benefit of the economy, the community and the environment of West Sussex. Please click on the links below:
SEF Application Form 2012-2013
Morning workshops are being held to find out more about the process and criteria to bid for this fund: 22nd May - Crawley; 25th May - Worthing; 28th May - Billingshurst; 31st May - Chichester. Full day workshops to help you develop ideas, a business plan and a budget for your bid will take place on: 26th June (north of the county - venue to be confirmed) and 29th June (south of the county - venue to be confirmed). To book a place at any of these workshops email social.enterprise@westsussex.gov.uk, indicating date and venue of the workshop you wish to attend as well as contact details (name, organisation, email and telephone number). These workshops are to assist you with your potential bid for the SEF. You may submit a bid irrespective of whether you attend one of these workshops. Deadline for submissions is 30th July; results will be announced in October or earlier if possible. Social Value Bill Update
A member of parliament’s 20-month crusade to inject social value into the way public services are commissioned triumphed as his Private Member’s Bill was passed by the House of Lords.The Lords gave the go ahead to the Social Value Bill, MPs in the Commons Financial Services Bill Committee threw out some key amendments on access to fair finance and social investment. Third Force Report - an assessment of the economic impact of the Third Sector in West Sussex
The Third Force report has been commissioned to the University of Chichester by WSCC. The aim of this report is to establish some clarity as to the economic value of community, voluntary organisations and social enterprises in West Sussex. “Beginners Guide to…” factsheets
The se² partnership has produced a series of factsheets aimed at demystifying some of the hot topics that came out of recent surveys, consultations and focus groups. There are currently 6 in the series: Social Enterprise - A Beginners Guide to… Social Franchising & Replication; Delivering Public Services; Procurement & Tendering; Social Impact Measurement; Diversifying Income Sources; and Building Consortia in the Social Enterprise Sector.
