The Aldingbourne gift shop offers produce made on site by adults with learning disabilities as well as a range of locally produced crafts, including - Ashwood Crafts, unique gifts made from hazel, birch and chestnut using renewable coppice from West Sussex woodlands; Duncan & Davies specialising in a vast range of camellias and acers; Zara Booker creating distinctive handmade colourful jewellery, cards and other embroidered items; Hannah Clear, creating individual handmade cards, bags and embroidered wall-hangings. The Centre welcomes John Cole, local craftsman who carves mushrooms, fairy ring toadstools, sculptural mushroom groups and much more from a variety of recycled wood sourced from the Goodwood Estate. From Aldingbourne itself, wood@aldingbourne sells a wide range of recycled 'waste' timber products, including ‘beehive’ composting bins, bird tables, owl, bird, insect and bat boxes. The wood is sourced from their recycling project – wood@aldingbourne. Its furniture restoration department offers antique furniture for sale, fully restored and French polished.

Description: We currently have various initiatives as part of our mental health day service provision in West Sussex including a Community Cafe in East Grinstead, a Community Cafe in Crawley, a Peer Support service, and a service user led music band which provides entertainment in the community, both based in Crawley. We are planning to expand these initiatives into other areas in Mid Sussex in 2009.
